Mercedes-Benz has finally announced that they will be parting ways with McLaren after the production of the 75 SLR’s roll off of the assembly line in 2009.

A spokesman from Mercedes has said that the partership will end in 2009, and it will not be renewed. The SLR was never really a success for Mercedes and it only sold 1,577 examples of the SLR worldwide, and 433 of the models were recalled for overheating.

Mercedes has also confirmed that there is a replacement for the SLR, called the SLC in 2010. It is expected to be developed by the AMG division at Mercedes-Benz.
