These are the newest images of the Opel Astra test mule, and for once they show the interior almost completely undisguised. We can already see from the past images, as well as these images, that the shape won’t dramatically change.

The Opel Astra will have a bit of the Insignia in it, with hints of the Insignia model in the sweeping curve of the dashboard. This test mule does not have any of the production models features just yet, so some things might still change.

The basics on the car will be a control panel which was inspired by the Insignia, and a gear lever which appears to be higher for a sportier driving position.

The particular car in the images will have a six-speed gearbox, with two buttons marked ’sport’ and ‘tour’ at the top of the centre stack. This suggests that an active chassis system which will control the suspension will be available. There are also signs of heated seats being available in this model.

The outside of the Astra will have LED light clusters which can be seen at the front.

The Opel Astra is expected to debut a the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009 and it is expected to hit the showromos in 2010.

Opel will first release the model as a five-door, then a three-door, then an estate version will come. The final model to be released will be a convertible Twin Top variant.
