Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione & Maserati models recalled
Miscellaneous | Dean | January 23, 2009 at 12:19
Owners of the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione will have to return their beauty for a problem which concerns incorrectly torqued front and rear suspension upper and lower ball joint nuts.
The recall is also effecting the 2008 Maserati Gran Turismo and Quattroporte models which share the same platform as the 8C.
There will be 7,912 Maseratis and Alfa 8c Competiziones will be recalled.
The incorrectly torqued ball joint nuts might be able to loosen with constant driving and steering wheel vibration, this will then lead to a growing metallic noise and progressive loss of driving precision in the transients.
The damage done above might lead to the suspension lever, which will on the long term cause the ball joint/suspension arm to break.
Concerned U.S. owners may contact Maserati for more information at 1-201-816-2600.
