Opel officially receives the European Car of the Year 2009 award

Carl-Peter Forster is the lucky man who gets to raise the award for the European “Car of the Year 2009”. If you are wondering who Carl-Peter Forster is, then you should probably know that he is the General Motors European President.

The ceremony for European Car of the Year 2009 took place on the 26th of January at Opel’s plant in Russelheim, Germany.

So I guess you are wondering which car won the award… Well, the Opel Insignia won the award with 321 points in total, beating the Ford Fiesta and VW Golf VI which had 320 and 223 points.
