Renaultsport are prepared to debut their enhanced version of the Megane at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The intial model will be based on hte three-door Megane Coupe and it will rival the Volkswagen Scirocco. Renault are also apparently planning a five-door version of the regular Megane hatchback.

Renaultsport’s Megane will have new, unique styling which will enhance the sporty-ness of the car. The exterior will feature some styling cues from the Megane trophy race car which was at last years Paris Motor Show.

There will be a new aeroblade styling on the front air intake, a radical rear bumper treatment and a center mounted exhaust. Reports are saying that the car will feature flared wheel arches and a wider track.

The power on the new model will come from a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine which is used in the current Renault Megane R26, but the power is now boosted by 20-bhp for a total of 250-bhp.

There will be a six-speed manual with the capability of 0-100km/h in only six seconds flat.

The Renaultsport Megane will feature Brembo brakes, the option of a limited-slip differential, a double axis front suspension to limit the amount of torque steer, there will also be electric power steering which was recalibrated for better driver feel and greater accuracy.
