Mazda MX-5 facelift priced for the UK market

The new Mazda MX-5 will arrive in the UK during the April month with a starting price of £16,345 for the soft-top model, while the Roadster Coupe will start from £18,345.
The 2009 Mazda MX-5 will come with a choice of four powertrains, and all of them have been fine-tuned for a better fuel-economy. The engine range includes a 126-hp 1.8-litre and a 160-hp 2.0-litre engine with a five-speed gearbox, while the 160-hp 2.0-litre will feature a six-speed manual gearbox. The 160-hp 2.0-litre will also come with an optional ‘PowerShift’ six-speed sequential paddle-shift auto ‘box.
The MX-5 will come with alloy wheels, a leather steering wheel, leather gear knob and a leather handbrake. There will also be an MP3-compatible audio system with six-speakers and a new auxiliary (AUX) input jack for MP3 and iPod connection.
The 2.0-litre model will feature DSC (dynamic stability control), TCS (traction control system), a Limited Slip Differential and side airbags.
Sport versions of the MX-5 will start from £19,695. The Sport models feature 17-inch alloy wheels, uprated Bilstein dampers, a front suspension strut bracing bar, a six-speed manual transmission, front fog lamps and heated leather seats.
Other specifications include climate control air conditioning, cruise control, a premium BOSE audio system with a 6-CD changer and seven speakers, along with Bluetooth connectivity.
