McLaren have announced new plans to produce more than 100 cars per year, as the new output will be set at 1,000 cars per year by 2011.
McLaren will then move onto producing 4,000 cars per year later on.
The supercar maker is busy finishing off the last models with Mercedes-Benz before they can sell their own products, which will cost less than the current partnership models, in a quest to become a better rival to Ferrari and Lamborghini.
The first new model from McLaren will be the P11 which has been spotted quite a few times already, and this model will be the replacement for the SLR. The P11 will feature gullwing doors and a Mercedes AMG engine which will have around 550- to 600-hp. The mid-engined supercar should arrive around 2010.
