Mercedes-Benz Recalls 16,130 MY2009 M-Class models

Mercedes-Benz have recalled 16,130 M2009 M-Class SUVs in the USA due to a problem with the optional power lift gate. It was said that the seal could allow water to enter the rear compartment which would contain the spare tire, as well as the control unit for the power lift gate.
The result could disable the power lift gate motor, and it could also cause a short circuit which might even result in a fire.
Those that have the optional lift gate will be able to get their car repaired with a thicker seal during the April month.
