McLaren have recently revealed that their F1 Racing team and their Automotive side will be separate companies, where the automotive side will be the ones responsible for the new P11 Supercar. The P11 is essentially a successor to the McLaren F1, which was their most legendary car.

The new P11 Supercar has been rendered by AutoExpress, and it shows the car featuring a pop-up rear wing and projector-style headlights. The P11 Supercar should go on sale during 2011, where it will cost £150,000.

McLaren’s new supercar should feature various Formula One technology, which means that you will find lightweight carbon fibre materials, as well as a KERS-style system. Ron Dennis, the head of McLaren Automotive said that the P11 will be “the most environmentally friendly car of its type”.

You will find that the P11 will be powered by a 6.2-litre V8 engine from the AMG department and we can expect 1,000 models in the first year of production.

We’re expecting the P11 to make its debut at the LA Motor Show in November… Amped!
