These are the first official images of the Opel Insignia OPC which will soon arrive on the market. The car will be sold in the UK under the Vauxhall Insignia VXR moniker. The Insignia OPC has been developed to compete against Audi’s S4 and other cars in that segment.
The Insignia OPC will obviously not cost as much as those models, but it will however feature a 2.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine with 325-hp and 400Nm of torque being pushed to all four of the wheels.
Opel’s Insignia OPC will be the first ever four-wheel-drive Opel OPC model, so expect a new electronically controlled rear limited slip differential, which will transfer 40% of the torque to the rear wheel with the most grip.
There will be new brakes, and a 0-100km/h time of 5.8 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.
The Insignia OPC will have new styling which includes a new front bumper, side sills and a discreet boot lid spoiler with a new rear bumper which will house two large matte chrome tail pipes. There will be 19-inch alloy wheels with the option of 20-inch alloys as well.
Inside you will find Recaro front seats and a new three-spoke leather steering wheel, a different gearknob for the six-speed gearbox and also a redesigned instrument cluster.
