Bugatti’s Drop-Top Veyron Grand Sport Has Now Entered Production
Miscellaneous | Dean | May 27, 2009 at 13:14The limited edition Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport with 1,001 horsepower has now entered production in Molsheim, France. It is said that there will be only be 150 topless Veyron’s up for grabs, and the first 50 models will be exclusive models for existing Bugatti customers.
This limited edition drop-top Veyron is priced at €1.4 million and this price tag does not include taxes and transportation, but then again if you can afford that who cares about taxes and transportation.
Delivers will start in July, and the first model has already actually been sold.
Bugatti’s Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport has been tagged as the fastest production model in the world, and it features the original 1,001-hp quad-turbo 16-cylinder motor from teh Coupe.
Of course for Bugatti to pull this model off they had to modify a range of things on the car, and these changes include a redesigned air intake with 10-centimetres of carbon fibre elements which will serve as protection in case the speedster rolls, as well as a reinforced monocoque structure around the side skirt and the transmission tunnel .
Inside you will find new moisture-resistant leather with new features including a reversing camera with a 2.7-inch monitor integrated into the rear-view mirror.
Performance on the model allows the car to get a top speed of 407km/h with the top closed, and 360km/h with the top open. When you use the emergency soft top you will be restricted to a speed of 130km/h.
