Apparently some new Ford news states that the automaker are planning to use the ‘Coyote’ 5.0-litre V8 in the Ford Falcon. This news comes from Ford Australia, as they have said that they will use V8 engines after the death of the 5.4-litre V8 Boss unit.
The Coyote 5.0-litre V8 is a unit that is still undergoing testing in the USA, and it already pumps out 402-hp with 398lb-ft of torque.
Ford Coyote is expected to find its way into the engine bay of the 2010 Ford Falcon, where it will then probably find its way into the 2011 Mustang as well.
This news from Ford is very surprising as they do have the V6 EcoBoost range, as well as the fact that many automakers are moving down an engine size. Only thing is… What would the Mustang be without a V8? So could that big a big role player in the reason for this motor?
“We are going to have to take a punt,” said Christophers. “It is amazing how that segment has really stood up. If people just want performance they would buy the turbo, but plenty of people are still buying the V8.”
