Terry Rhadigan from General Motors has said that contrary to belief, the convertible version of the Camaro has not been cancelled.

“The convertible was never canceled. It was retimed. It will be the first quarter of 2011 for the start of production,” said Rhadigan.

GM’s spokesman said that the company’s original plan included an electric folding soft top for 2010.

“We always thought it would be one year after the coupe,” he said. “Instead we are going two.”

It was said that the drop-top will feature the same engine range as the coupe variant.

I was wondering if the Convertible Camaro will also have a hard drop top vs. just having a soft top. Also when is it scheduled to come out?
