Report: Fiat Execs Have Met With Opel Execs

Fiat are planning on merging with Opel, and they are planning on beating Magna on this bid. In regards to this Sergio Marchionne has met up with the big boys at GM’s Opel brand for a meeting.

The meeting was about Fiat obtaining the Opel brand, and it was said that Fiat will soon meet with many more of the guys from Opel in this respect. Opel has said that they will not close any plants, which changes what we previously reported.

We said that Opel would close plant in Germany, but the company now said that they will not do this. This might be because they want the German government to invest in the bid, and also push forward the Fiat name towards winning the brand.
