REPORT: Magna Would Use Opel As A General Automaker, Where Fiat Would Not

General Motors’ are still planning to sell their Opel brand in Europe, the only problem is.. To who? The two buyers interested are Magna Steyr and Fiat.
If Magna had to win the bid for Opel, the companies plans would allow the Opel brand to provide parts for other automakers. It was said that the Opel brand would help develop cars for automakers if they won.
It has been said that Ford and Peugeot are interested in the factory space from Opel, and this makes sense as new factories are expensive.
GM will have the final say in the sale of Opel, while the German government will still have a big say in the matter as they will provide about 3.3 million euros in financial support to the company.
Fiat have said that they would like to close the Kaiserslautern factory in Germany, while Magna would not close any factories. Will the German government see this as an advantage towards Magna?
Let us know what you think about this, and tell us who you think should obtain Opel.
