Rolls Royce have announced that they are planning to increase their work force by 50%. This is unusual at these times as most companies are laying workers off.

The increase will come as Rolls Royce are planning to create 150 more jobs by the end of the year, and this will come through the production of the Ghost which will be revealed in Frankfurt, at the show.

There will be around 400 new jobs created in under two years, and this will bring a total workforce of 900.

Most of the new jobs will come in the wood, leather and paint departments, as well as the assembly areas.

“This is good news for the British car industry at a time when it is struggling. Britain has an exceptional talent for automotive production and we are keen to maximize this at Rolls-Royce,” said Rolls-Royce CEO Tom Purves. “Our new model, the Ghost, has enjoyed an extremely positive international response and we now need to put people in place to bring the car to market.”
