Last month we reported about Volvo creating their very own racing game, which will be for free – of course.

Well. The time has come. The game has been released and you can download it for free on their site.

The game was created by SimBin and it features you racing against other Volvo’s, on the track.

Overall the game is pretty decent, and its old 500 odd megabytes, so what can you really expect. There are two tracks, Gothenburg and Chayaka, that are really highly detailed. The vehicles glide around the corners and cruise pretty well down the straights.

The cars are good to look at, and all of the ‘real-life’ effects are there. This means that you can expect race car ambiance such as squeaky brakes, rattling, transmission noise and exhaust pipe flames, etc.

You can choose from a bunch of cars and they all have a meaning to the company from way back when, so it’s cool that they were included into this project.

Like any game you can expect downsides, and this game is limited by no damage or mechanical tweaking, and there is a load of splash screens with adverts, but then again we remind you, 500 megabytes and free. This ultimately means, WIN.
