Back in 1999 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, German tuner Arden unveiled a special edition A-Type AJ18 model that was based on the Jaguar XK from 1997. There was a limited production run of only 13 units during this time.
It is now 10 years later and Arden has decided that they would like to build five more A-Type AJ18 models. The new additions will boost the count to 18 limited edition models.
Arden’s A-Type AJ18 package will give the XK a more racer-like look as the company has added a new full body kit made out of a special carbon composite material. There will be new front and rear fenders which will widen the car by about 50mm.
The A-Type will have 3-air grille vent which is built in to the front fenders, a new reworked front bumper and a stainless steel mesh upper and lower grille. There will be a new lip spoiler and race-spec mirrors with side skirts and a new revised rear bumper.
Jaguar’s Arden modified XK will have a new large rear wing and also a new set of 20-inch wheels to keep the car rolling.
Mechanical upgrades include a high-performance braking system with 370mm discs and a 6-piston caliper brakes. There will be a sport suspension to lower the car by 30 mm as well.
