Tesla has opened up their first UK dealership in the heart of London. The dealership is in the Knightsbridge district and it is a 5,000 square foot showroom that will act as the European flagship store for Tesla.
The company has said that they will deliver cars to European customers during the summer months, where 250 of the models will be Signature Edition Roadster models that are priced from £94,000 on the road. The first models will however only arrive in 2010.
Tesla has said that they have already received 1,300 orders for the all-electric roadster model for Europe.
“Thanks to an abundance of discriminating drivers and progressive public policy, Tesla is already well known in Europe,” said Tesla CEO Elon Musk. “We expect the London store to dramatically increase our brand identity throughout the continent, and with right hand drive models now due at the beginning of next year, the UK market will provide a solid foundation on which to build this.”
