The Audi Q5 Scores Five Stars In The NHTSA Safety Test

Audi’s Q5 model has been awarded as a Top Safety Pick for 2009 by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The 2009 Audi Q5 has been awarded with a “good” rating in all three tests which include side impact, offset front and rear impact tests.

The Audi Q5 earned five stars in the NHTSA’s frontal crash tests as well.

“Audi engineers place unwavering emphasis on the protection of motorists and their passengers,” said Johan de Nysschen, President, Audi of America. “These outstanding ratings for the Audi Q5 confirm our intent to meet the most rigorous safety standards found anywhere in the world.”

“Recognizing vehicles at the head of the class for safety helps consumers distinguish the best overall choices without having to sort through multiple test results,” added Institute president Adrian Lund.

The standard safety features on the Audi Q5 include four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, ESP, daytime running lights and a tire pressure monitoring system. There will also be other optional extra’s for the car.
