Pictured here is an artist impression of the new Alfa Romeo 159 which will apparently revive the old Giulia nameplate. The Fiat owned automaker is currently swapping their numeric names for proper word names, as seen by the MiTo and the 149 being called the Milano.

The Giulia will be available around 2011, and it will make use of the C-Evo platform from Fiat, where it will also use some of the technology found in the new Milano hatchback.

Alfa’s Giulia will feature front-wheel-drive and also all-wheel-drive. There will be no rear wheel drive variant.

It is still to early to suggest which engines there will be in the Giulia, but we can suggest the 1.75-litre turbocharged petrol unit alongside various diesel units.
