The BMW X1 has been leaked online, where the exterior is almost unchanged from the X1 concept study that was revealed last year. The new X1 only features new revised tail lights. These images come with a look at the interior and also an undisguised exterior.

The X1’s interior will follow the lines of the X3, which means that there will be a center console that is slightly aimed towards the driver.

These images came with no technical data, but we do know that the X1 will be running on a modified 3-Series platform with an xDrive system. Reports have said there will be a petrol range that includes a 2.0-litre unit with 143-hp and a 3.0-litre straight six unit with 170-hp. The diesel line up will have a 2.0-litre unit with 143-hp, 177-hp and 204-hp.

Expect this model to rival the VW Tiguan, Ford Kuga and Toyota RAV-4. It will first be on show in Frankfurt before it goes on sale in both Europe and North America.
