Official Details & Images: The New 2010 Audi A5 Sportback

The time has come. Audi has now officially loaded us with all of the details on their 2010 Audi A5 Sportback that will not be making its way to the United States. The A5 Sportback will be on sale in Europe during the September month, where it will join the Coupe and Cabriolet models.

The interior will see Audi using a no new techniques whatsoever. The four seat layout is visible, long with the same dashboard found in the rest of the A5 range. There will be a bit more space in the rear for the passengers.

Engines on the A5 Sportback will start with a 132-kW, or a 155-kW 2.0-litre TFSI engine that will be connected to a 7-speed dual clutch S tronic transmission with a quattro all-wheel drive set up. The 211-horsepower version of the motor will launch the Sportback from 0-100km/h in only 6.6 seconds where it will then travel on to a top speed of 241km/h. There will be an average fuel economy of 7.4 liters of fuel per 100 km. Audi has said that there will be new entry-level motors coming in the future, and they will feature all-wheel drive and front wheel drive layouts.

Audi’s range topping A5 petrol variant will include the 3.2-litre FSI engine with 195-kW and a maximum torque of 330Nm. Audi’s range topping A5 Sportback will feature the same 0-100km/h time of 6.6 seconds, where it will then go on to a top speed of 250km/h with a fuel consumption of 9.3-litres of fuel per 100km.

There will of course be a TDI range that includes a 125kW engine with start-stop and a fuel consumption of 5.2-litres per 100 km.This motor will then be followed by a 140kW 2.7-litre TDI. Audi’s range topping diesel will be the 3.0-litre TDI that is connected to a 7-speed S tronic ‘box with quattro all wheel drive. This unit will produce 176kW and a fuel consumption of 6.5 litres of diesel per 100km.

The German automaker has also added a S-line package that will allow customers to add a sporty look to their Sportback. This kit will add new larger wheels, exterior and interior modifications and a suspension kit for a lowered ride height.
