Penske Automotive has said that their company is planning to buy Saturn from General Motors by the end of September. Roger Penske, the chairman, said that they will consider using the Saturn brand to sell vehicles outside of North America.
“I think that we’re past midfield with GM. There are always issues that you have to deal with, but I think we’re progressing well,” Roger Penske said. ”We’ve said that our goal is to close this transaction by the end of September, and we’re prepared to do that.”
At the moment the terms state that GM will continue to supply Saturn with the Aura sedan, the Vue SUV and the Outlook crossover until year 2011.
Penske will keep the service and warranty for all current models, so this means that if you currently own a Saturn model you won’t have to worry about this at all.
