Peugeot 407 Coupe For 2010 To Benefit From Two New Diesel Engines
New Cars | Dean | July 9, 2009 at 03:39Peugeot are trying to enhance their line up with a new Coupe 407 model. The 2010 Peugeot 407 will now benefit from a new set of diesel engines that have been developed in connection with Ford. The new 3.0-litre V6 HDi motors are the same units that were recently released on the Citroen C5 and C6 models.
This engine will replace the old 2.7-litre unit, where it will feature 240-horsepower and 450Nm of torque.. The new diesel unit will feature a particle emission filter (PEF) and it will be complaint with the Euro 5 standards. The V6 diesel unit will be connected to a six-speed sequential gearbox and it will launch the Coupe from 0-100km/h in only 7.7 seconds and then onto a top speed of 240km/h.
Power on the new engine is 18 percent better than that of the old unit, and despite this the new motor features a 15 percent fuel consumption reduction which means a combined figure of 7.2-litres per 100km.
The second new engine for the 407 Coupe will be a 2.0-litre four-cylinder HDi engine that is connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox. This motor will have 163-horsepower with 340Nm of torque. This motor will accelerate the coupe from 0-100km/h in 9.1 seconds and it will have a maximum speed of 220km/h.
The 2.0-litre HDi will get 5.2-litres per 100km/h of diesel.
Expect the 2010 MY Range to feature new door mirrors, some chrome and a new navigation system.
