Many people do not trust Chinese companies, mainly because they are scared of the language barrier. Well, although that is not a really good reason at all, it’s kind of true. Chinese companies have been in the media a lot recently as they are trying to branch out to the European markets. The most recent news about Chinese automakers involve two things, BAIC wanting to get their paws on a European company, and court cases due to cars being ‘copied’.

Now finally, something new. It was announced that Austrian car dealer, Denzel will finally become the first to sell Chinese models on the European market. The first two brands on sale will be Geely and BYD Auto models. The partnership will start during 2010 as this will be the only time that the Chinese companies will meet the safety regulations.

The economic turn down seems to be favouring Chinese companies money-wise, as they are really interested in investing into other brands, such as Opel and Saab. However, it seems like the whole mistrust comes into play and these company’s are always shot down first.

At the moment there might only be one successful Chinese take over, and this involves Volvo and Geely. It was said that Geely has offered a very generous deal to Ford for the brand. But wait, we forgot to mention, there is a twist in the tale; Ford is currently trying to stall the deal until Opel has been sold, thus allowing the loser between RHJ and Magna to try and up the bids for the Volvo brand.
