Hyundai are planning to produce their new i20 mini-car in Europe where they will try and gain tax benefits. The new i20 will be produced around 70,000 times per year.

The Hyundai i20 is one of the companies best selling cars, and it does really well in countries with the scrapping scheme.

“We got to the stage where we were losing money on every i10 and i20 sold. These cars could be sold at a profit in France or Germany, so we had to increase the price or risk losing future stock,” a Hyundai source said some weeks ago when the first positive signs of the UK scrapping scheme boosted the company’s sales.

  1. There has been labor problems and electricity shortage at the plant near my home where they make the i20. That’s the reason.

This would be a nice car for Hyundai North America to bring in as the Cheaper than the more Luxurious Next Gen Accent car they plan on bringing over.

Oh right, so power shortages are the reason to the swap in production areas?

Wait, they have lost the car? How does that work! What the heck.

You should really take this further or something?
