Rumours State That MINI Might Enter The WRC With Their Crossover Model

We recently reported that the World Rally Championship were looking to add four new automakers to their series, where it was rumoured that VW and Fiat would be the first two entrants. Fiat will apparently use F1 Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen for their Abarth racer, while we are not too sure about VW.

Anyway, the newest new news on this states that MINI might add themselves to the series as well where they will set up an all-wheel-drive car for the 2011 races. It has been said that the new Crossover with the four-wheel-drive system could find its way into the races as the BMW company will move away from Formula One. The model will be a John Cooper Works upgrade kit to form the base of the rally car.

Of course all of this is just speculation at the moment, but it does sound really interesting.
