Not many companies seem to be attracted to the fact that Volvo is for sale. Many potential investors are over looking this as they are not too interested in the Swedish brand. However, a report has said that Chinese automaker Geely is definitely interested in the brand.

This makes Geely the second automaker, after BAIC, to be interested in a Volvo purchase from Ford. Geely has said that they would offer up to $2 billion for the brand.

We’ve been in discussion with a number of parties concerning the future of Volvo, and that situation hasn’t changed,” Ford spokesman John Gardiner told Dow Jones. “It’s still the case that Volvo is held for sale, and it’s probable that Volvo will be sold,” said Gardiner. “But this process will still take some time to unfold.”

Ford are hoping to sell the brand by the end of the year.
