The Hyundai Sonata or i40 has been leaked online, where the sketches and official images are now online. The 2011 Sonata will be aimed at competing against the Mercedes-Benz CLS model, along with other premium cars in that range.
The engine will be a 2.4-litre Theta II engine with direct injection and around 200-horsepower of power. There will also be a 2.0-litre petrol engine available in the future.
Expect a 2.2-litre diesel ‘R’ unit with 204-horsepower for the future, where the US market might find them self getting the 250-horsepower V6 Lambda Sonata.
Hyundai will send the power to the road through a six-speed manual, or automatic transmission. There will be a new level of premium extras that include a panoramic roof, stop-start and paddle shifts on the steering wheel.
The debut will be on the 10th of September.
