BMW in North America has announced that they are recalling their 2009 MINI John Cooper Works, and JCW Clubman due to problems with the brakes. The recall will effect 560 vehicles where it was said that the 16-inch brakes might not be as effective under heavy braking.
“BMW is recalling 560 MY 2009 JCW (John Coper Works) and JCW Clubman vehicles equipped with 16 inch diameter front discs rather than 17 inch discs. Under conditions of intense brake usage, braking performance would be reduced,” the report stated.
The problems with bad brakes could lead to an accident, and this means that it would be dangerous to leave unchanged. “Depending on traffic and road conditions, as well as a driver’s reactions, reduced brake performance could increase the risk of a crash.”
