A top newspaper in the US has announced that a new company has entered the race for Ford’s Volvo brand. Recently Geely, from China, was the only automaker really interested in the Swedish brand.
Sources from the newspaper have said that Crown, an American consortium, are currently interested in securing financial aid for the brand. The consortium are interested in keeping Volvo alive in it’s home market, Sweden.
The Crown group is currently run by Ford director Michael Dingman and ford Ford executive Shamel Rushwin.
Despite the news that Ford would kind of like to keep a hand in the brand, it was said that they did offer a noticeably smaller amount than Geely. Reports have said that the Volvo price tag is current around 2.5 billion USD.
