Most hot-hatch enthusiasts interested in power and lightweight would prefer a manual gearbox, however it seems as if Subaru think otherwise. The Japanese automaker has created a new Impreza STI A-Line Carbon, which will be at the Tokyo Show, with a 5-speed automatic gearbox.

It’s okay, you can close this window now.

However, those willing to go on will be happy to know that the Legacy-sourced gearbox, will offer a reduced weight with a lower center of gravity for improved handling and performance. Oh, of course the carbon fibre roof will play its part as well. But that’s not the point! Automatic?

Inside there will be a new suede fabric with a new set of Recaro bucket seats to keep your position while you change gear….Oh wait.

Expect this model to go on sale after it is revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show.
