Fiat’s Doblo mini-van will go on sale during January of 2010 where the European market will be able to benefit from two body styles. There will be a five or seven seat layout available along with a pair of rear sliding doors. The Cargo version will only have one sliding door available.
The next-generation Doblo will have a new platform which uses a wheelbase of 2,755mm and this is the largest in its segment. There will be a load of passenger space along with a 790 litre luggage compartment in MPV form. The Cargo Van will boast a 1,000 kg loading bay.
The launch will see four engines available, a 95-hp unit, and then three Multijet diesels with 90, 105 and 135-horsepower. There will then be joined by a dual fuel system engine that can run on petrol and methane. Alongside the petrol and methane engine, the Italian automaker will also add another diesel unit with a Dualogic robotized gearbox.
All of the models will boast a start/stop system along with low fuel consumption. There will be equipment such as automatic climate control for the rear seats, cruise control, parking sensors, a built in Blue&Me hands free kit, and a Blue&Me TomTom navigator.
There will be 7 different body types which start with a short and long wheel base van, high top van, short and long wheelbase 5-seater combi and a brand new short and long drop-framed version.
The fuel consumption for the 1.3-litre diesel engine will be set at 4.8-litres per 100km/h and this will have a driving range of 1,250km.
