Michael Schumacher is yet to sign the documents on this, so we’ll start with: It has been said that the German world champion will return to Formula One in 2010. Michael will allegedly drive for the Mercedes team in 2010.

It was said that the retired 40-year-old will drive alongside Nico Rosberg for the up and coming seasons. It’s a verbal one year deal, and contract withdrawals with Ferrari seem to be positive.. For now.

The signing of documents will first have to go through the approval of doctors, as Michael recently suffered neck pain from a motorcycle accident.

A source told Bild: “The signature is just a formality. Schumacher feels fit and healthy. The latest (medical) tests were entirely positive.

“He can’t wait for the return and working with Ross Brawn again.”

Announcements have said that the deal could be made as early as next week. However, we’re skeptical.

It was hinted that the Mercedes brand would like Michael as their ambassador, and this is the long term plan for the deal.
