Honda Reveals Their New P-NUT Concept
Concept Models, Hybrid/Electric | Dean | December 4, 2009 at 01:05The new Honda Personal-Neo Urban Transport, or P-NUT, made its debut at the LA Auto Show. The P-NUT will be 3,400 mm long, 1,750 mm wide and 1,439 mm high.
Honda’s new P-NUT will have a futuristic look, and it is a proposal for a new micro coupe which is slightly larger than the Smart ForTwo.
“The objective of the exterior and interior designers was to explore the potential for a new type of small-segment-category vehicle that overcomes many of the objections for existing micro-car designs,” said Dave Marek, director of advanced design for Honda R&D Americas. “While the Honda P-NUT concept introduces function-oriented concepts, it also shows that small cars don’t have to compromise on style or amenities.”
The P-NUT will be able to carry three-passengers, where the driver will sit in the center of the car.
Power-wise we can expect to see a small combustion engine connected to an electric motor forming a hybrid powertrain. Other options include petrol-only motors, or electric units which use batteries.
