The Audi TT-RS Is Undergoing South African Weather Testing Before Its Local Release
Miscellaneous, South Africa | Dean | December 4, 2009 at 12:35The news about Audi’s TT-RS coming to South Africa is not revolutionary news at all, in fact, their site tells us about this. The Audi TT-RS will only be released in 2010 where it will boast a 2.5-litre in-line five cylinder engine with turbocharging.
The power for the TT-RS will be a whopping 250kW. The 0-100km/h time will be 4.6 seconds for the coupe, and 4.7 seconds for the Roadster model. Audi will attach a six-speed manual gearbox to the car.
The German automaker has ensured that the TT-RS will boast pure driving thrill with excellent performance and charged emotion.
Fuel consumption figures for the TT-RS range from 9.2 to 9.5-litres per 100km.
All of this information is already online, however, what makes this story worthy are the following two points.
- Audi is currently testing the TT-RS in South Africa — The Northern Cape to be exact
- The test cars have arrived, and this could mean loads of new spy shots.
Following the TT-RS on its test-quest around the country will be the Audi Q7 TDI.
Check out the respective models below.
Edit: The gold colour on the TT-RS is a prototype colour and Audi is testing to see what the reaction would be. If the reaction is good, they will bring the colour to the range.
