Volkswagen’s head of Research and Development, Dr. Ulrich Hackenburg said that the new Golf 7 will be unveiled in many flavours.

“We’re looking at a hybrid version of a compact car for Europe and it will come on the next Golf, and an EV version,” revealed Hackenburg.

Essentially this means that the Golf 7 will come with hybrid and electric powertrains alongside the normal petrol and diesel units. Four different models sounds really extreme and it will knock the market wide open.

Hybrid-diesel technology might be possible as VW did reveal their new Up! Lite Concept at the LA Auto Show as well.
