The Peugeot 308 CC will become the first model in the Peugeot range to benefit from a new 1.6-litre HDi FAP turbocharged diesel engine. This motor will meet the requirements of the brand new Euro 5 emission standards.
Power wise, we’ll see the engine boast 112-horsepower with 270Nm of torque. There is no real drastic change in figures, as this model only has two more horsepower than the previous diesel. The torque figures on the other hand have changed tremendously as the original amount of 260Nm. There will also be an overboost function which allows for 285Nm.
Peugeot said that this engine houses a 50% part redesign, and this is how they found a way to gain more power with lower emissions and a better fuel economy.
The Peugeot 308 CC will be connected to a six-speed manual gearbox and it will get from 0-100km/h in about 12.2 seconds, where the top speed will be 191km/h. Fuel consumption is set at 5.3-litres per 100km.
