Audi’s A1 — No Quattro All Wheel Drive, But There Might Be A USA Model
Miscellaneous, Reports | Dean | February 25, 2010 at 10:40Audi will have a press conference at the Geneva Motor Show, where they will talk about the new A1 premium hathback. However, before all of this happens, journalists have been awarded the opportunity to ask a load of questions regarding the brand’s plans.
Most of the questions regarding the S1 and RS1 models didn’t actually make the cut, but this was expected.
Audi said that there are no plans for an all-wheel-drive quattro system for the A1, and there will only be three and five-door hatchback body styles available. Furthermore, there is no plan for a cabriolet or roadster model of the A1 in consideration.
Now, the big one. The A1 in the USA.
Audi said that there are currently no plans to launch the A1 in the USA market, however they are doing a feasibility study which might see the automaker launch a few models into the market.
It has kind of been said that Audi’s A1 will use the same platform as the VW Polo.
