BMW Are Planning To Fight The Audi R8 By Dropping The Current M6

Reports from the UK state that BMW might replace their M6 with a new model that goes head to head with Audi’s R8. The new model is expected to be a V8 sports car based on the Vision EfficientDynamics concept — pictured above.

The Vision model boasted a 258kW diesel-hybrid engine with 800Nm of torque, and this only had a three-cylinder layout. Therefore it’s unlikely that it will find its way into the R8 rival.

BMW has said that in order for them to make the car a decent competitor they will have to make the model “intelligent and dramatic-looking.”

Sounds promising, perhaps we can see a twin turbocharged V8 powered Vision ED model with a few changes to, already serious, dramatic-styling.
