The third of April will see the highest bidder at the Barrett-Jackson auction drive away with the brand new 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition coupe, which is currently in a limited production of only 500 units.

“The Corvette Z06 Carbon will surely be an instant collectible,” said Jim Campbell, U.S. Vice President, Chevrolet Marketing. “For that reason, we see Barrett-Jackson as the premiere venue to sell the first retail Z06 Carbon.”

General Motors has said that the highest bidder will be giving the opportunity to take a tour around the Performance Build Center in Wixom, Michigan where he can pretty much watch the car being created.

Features on the Z06 Carbon Limited include a new set of Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, Michelin PS2 tires, Magnetic Ride Control and some cooling upgrades. There will be new mirrors and new headlamps which create a slight difference between this, and the standard model.
