Volvo’s C70 Coupe And Convertible Is Ready To Drop Its Top
New Cars, South Africa | Dean | March 26, 2010 at 21:02Following the Volvo C30, the new C70 coupe and convertible is also available. The Volvo C7 will have a three-piece steel roof and it will be able to seat four adults inside. There is an updated design, where Volvo says that they have added a ‘premium feel’.
“The Volvo C70 has classic convertible lines and a strong identity of its own. What we have done is to carefully redesign the front and rear so they harmonise more with both today’s and tomorrow’s Volvo models. We have also increased the exclusiveness of the materials and trim details to enhance the atmosphere of luxury and enjoyment inside the car,” explains Fedde Talsma, Exterior Chief Designer at Volvo Cars.
There is a new front end which blends with the other larger models in the range. The new C70 will have new front wings, a new set of headlights which are repositioned and finally a more dynamic appearance. There is a larger air intake in the front, and this finishes off the look.
The rear end will have a set of LED lamps, similar to the ones from the XC60, and this is probably the biggest change in the rear end.
Inside you’ll find a new instrument panel, as well as a unique ambiance.
The roof will be able to open or close in 30 seconds, and it will only need 2 meters of vertical space to do so.
