Ford’s Focus RS500 Sells Out Before It’s Even On Sale [+Video]

Ford has sold 500 Focus RS500 models before the official live reveal. That’s right, the limited edition Focus is now sold out.

Want to know the best part? Well, the model was only meant to go on sale next month, however RS fans bashed into dealerships demanding that they have their order placed immediately. A few confusing phone calls between different Ford parties finally resulted in happy customers.

A Ford source told AutoCar that “people were literally walking into dealers or calling them up and placing orders for the car.” Ford tried their best to handle the situation “because we had to quickly bring the car’s launch forward we hadn’t even briefed the dealers on its existence. It led to some quite confused phone calls between dealers and head office.”

Ford has equipped the matte-black RS500 with a 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine which pumps out 257kW with 460Nm of torque. The 0-100km/h time comes in 5.6 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 265km/h.
