The latest, and greatest, Hyundai Elantra has been unveiled at the Busan Motor Show. Dubbed the Avantre, it boasts a sportier look and a more ‘fluidic sculpture’ when compared to the previous generation model. In other words, there’s a four-door-coupe-like look.

There are no interior shots, and the windows have been blacked out. With real dark black. Some have said that the interior will take a few elements from the Sonata though.

Technical details, are almost non-exist. Hyundai has revealed that there is a 1.6-litre Gamma petrol engine with Direct Injection. This will be connected to a 6-speed automatic gearbox for a total of 140-horsepower with 166Nm of torque.

Equipment features include HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlamps, LED combination lamps in the rear end, a TFT LCD information display — in colour — and heated rear seats.

“The new Avante encompasses Hyundai’s latest ambitions, featuring the best styling and performance in its class,” Steve S. Yang, President & CEO of Hyundai’s Global Business Division, said at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) today. “We’re confident that it will once again redefine the compact segment worldwide.”
