Nissan 370Z Roadster: Now On The Streets Of South Africa
New Cars, South Africa | Dean | May 28, 2010 at 13:32Nissan’s 370Z Roadster has hit South African dealers. The brand new convertible from Nissan will be lower, leaner, lighter and faster than the previous 350Z model. Nissan decided from day one that there would be a drop-top and coupe version of the 370Z and this essentially helped them create two cars with similar engineering but different body-styles.
“When work started on the 370Z some four years ago we decided from the outset that there would be a drop-top version as well as the coupé, so both were designed and engineered side by side. As a result we have been able to ensure the Roadster is notably stiffer than its predecessor to guarantee there has been no compromise in the area that matters most in a sports car: dynamic performance.” says Pierre Loing, Nissan’s European Vice President for Product Planning.
Nissan said that the roof on the 370Z soft-top Roadster will drop in only 20 seconds, where the 3.7-litre V6 engine will then blow you away. There is a total of 245kW with 363Nm of torque. All of this power will be sent to the road through a seven-speed automatic, or a six-speed manual gearbox with Synchro Rev.
Acceleration figures stand at 0-100km/h in 5.5 seconds where the top speed will be limited to 250km/h. Fuel consumption will amount to 11.2-litres per 100km for the manual and 10.9-litres per 100km for the automatic.
Features in the 370Z include climate-control, auto-dimming rear view mirror, automatic interior temperature with in-cabin micro-filter, power heated leather sites, a limited slip-differential, start/stop technology, bi-xenon lights, Bluetooth connectivity and a premium digital 6-cd changer with 8 BOSE speakers.
The Roadster ends off with a set of 19-inch alloy wheels.
Prices include a 3 year/90,000km Service Plan and 3 year/100,000km Warranty.
