Volvo Update The Six-Cylinder Petrol Range, Add A New Diesel
Pricing | Dean | May 6, 2010 at 01:47Volvo will introduce a 2.0-litre five-cylinder turbo-diesel engine throughout its entire range. Following this will be an upgrade for the six-cylinder petrol engines offered in the S80, V70, XC60 and XC70.
The new diesel motor will be offered with three different power outputs. One version pumps out 163-horsepower with 400Nm of torque. This model will be badged as the D3.
The D3 will be available in the C30 hatchback and S40 sedan where it will boast 150-horsepower and 350Nm of torque, opposed to the higher output found in the S80, V70 and XC60/70.
Volvo’s final diesel will be the D4 with 177-horsepower and 400Nm of torque.
All of these motors can be connected to a six-speed automatic gearbox, or a six-speed manual.
The upgraded six-cylinder will have a 3.0-litre displacement with 304-horsepower and 440Nm of torque.
