General Motors has recalled around 1.5 million vehicles due to a problem with windshield washer fluid heaters which could catch fire. The cars include cars from 2007 to 2009, where South Africa will received the Cadillac CTS from this group.

It’s been said that less than 100 South African’s will be influenced by this recall.

“We confirm that the GM’s global recall of various 2007-2009 model vehicles will impact upon 95 Cadillac CTS vehicles which were sold in South Africa over this period,” GMSA communications manager Denise van Huyssteen said.

“GM South Africa is in the process of contacting our customers to advise them to bring their vehicles in to disable a heated washer fluid system module that could pose a fire risk. There have been no reported incidents of this in South Africa.”

The fix will take about 20 minutes to complete.
