More Powerful, And Fuel Efficient Engines For The Opel Corsa

Opel’s 1.4-litre Corsa Enjoy, Essentia and Sport are now available in South Africa with an upgraded drivetrain. The power from the new 1.4-litre engine has been boost from 66kW to 74kW where torque has been upped by 5Nm to 130Nm. Following this, the fuel economy has dropped from 5.8-litres per 100km to 5.5-litres per 100km.

“Opel has done well to improve the performance of the Corsa 1.4 and at the same time reduce the impact of our vehicles on the environment by reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The 2010 Corsa 1.4 has a more powerful engine with better performance than the previous models and the lowest CO2 emissions in its class. All 2010 models now incorporate a shift indicator in the cluster to help the driver reduce fuel consumption by driving more economically,” says GMSA Passenger Vehicle Marketing Manager Tim Hendon.

Standard features on the Essentia include electric windows for the front, power steering, remote central locking and an alarm with immobiliser.
