Volkswagen’s Jetta for South Africa has received a few new engines which include the 1.4-litre TSI and TDI diesels. The engine enhancement is an attempt to bring the car in-line with the current Golf 6 model.

There will be new exterior colours, a new interior trim, alloy wheels and a standard multi-functional steering wheel for all of the vehicles except the 1.6-litre Trendline.

As usual, the three standard VW levels include the Trendline, Comfortline and Highline.

The Trendline will offer electric windows, dual-electric side view mirrors, semi-automatic Climatic air-con, six airbags and power-steering. The other trim levels will boast better seats, cruise-control, 17-inch wheels, a leather steering wheel, ESP and brake-assist.

I’m very frustrated. I have been driving a vw, golf, 1.9, tdi for the past 5 years. Ibought the car as brand new. The car has been superb in terms of performance. Now, I need to buy a new vehicle. I’m looking for a 2.0 diesel engine. Either a passat or a jetta but I’ve been told that there is no stock. How is that possible? Can a dealership help me. I can’t down grade to a 1.6, please. Why no stock? Can somebody explain to me, please.
